PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES LAID
The London Police Cyber Crime Unit arrested a man on May 2nd after an Internet child pornography investigation that began in January. A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence on King Edward Avenue in London . Charged with 2 counts of making available child pornography, 3 counts of possession of child pornography, 1 count of production of child pornography and 3 counts of possession of a prohibited weapon is Brandon Funnell, 29 years of London.
RESIDENTIAL FIRE
On Monday March 24 2008 at 11:52 pm London Police responded to a fire at a residence located at 50 Jacqueline Street . No one was inside. Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are holding the scene until the Ontario Fire Marshall attends. Estimated damage is $70,000. Read more HERE and HERE.
ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OVER OFFICERS
On Friday Feburary 15 2008 at 12:14 pm Police were in the area of Cleveland Avenue at Pondmills Road on an unrelated matter when two undercover officers approached a suspicious vehicle. The officers attempted to speak with the driver and occupant. The suspect drove the vehicle at the officers, over a snow bank and fled the scene. The vehicle has since been recovered abandoned on a nearby street and members of the Investigation Response Unit continue to investigate. There were no officers injured. No further information at this time.
Appended 2008/02/19: The driver of the vehicle that almost struck officers in the area of Primrose Court and Pondmills Road has now been identified as Gary Demelo 32 years of London . On Friday February 15th at 11:35 pm Demelo was arrested on an outstanding warrant in a vehicle on Second Street and is currently in custody. Demelo is charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle from Friday’s earlier incident involving the two officers.
CHARGES LAID AFTER INTERNET CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION
The London Police Cyber Crime Unit arrested a London man on February 11th after an Internet child pornography investigation that began on January 17th. A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence on King Edward Avenue . Charged with 4 counts of possession of child pornography and 3 counts of making available child pornography was Michael Cherry, 38 years of London.
WESTLAKE ST. STABBING
On Monday February 4 2008 at 9:18 am Police were called to an address on Westlake Street in regards to a disturbance. Police located a male stabbed. The suspect had fled the area prior to Police arrival. The victim was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. Police are looking for a suspect described as; male, dark complexion, with brown hair. No further description or details at this time. Police are still in early in the investigative stage.
Appended: The suspect in this assault has been identified as Rodney DESILVA 33 years, of no fixed address. A warrant is being applied for his arrest for aggravated assault. Police are asking the public not to approach him but to contact 911 immediately if seen. DESILVA is a male black 5’8”, 140 lbs and a photo is available upon request.
Appended 2008/02/07: Today shortly after 12:30 pm London Police Investigation Response Unit and Emergency Response Unit arrested wanted party Rodney Desilva at a residence on Shelborne Street. He will be attending court tomorrow.
ROBBERY @ ADELAIDE/THOMPSON
On Sunday, February 3, 2008, shortly before 3:00am, the London Police Service was called to a report of a robbery in the area of Adelaide Street at Thompson Road . A U-Need-A Cab taxi driver had taken two males to the area and when they arrived, he was assaulted by them. The males demanded money and made off with a quantity of cash. The driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.
The first male was described as being an Asian male, approximately 20-25 years old, short, stocky, and wearing a dark blue or black jacket. The second suspect was only described as being male.

BREAK AND ENTER SUSPECTS CAUGHT
On Wednesday January 16 2008 at 10:30 am a female returned home to her residence located on Scenic Drive . The female noticed that the house was broken into and then observed two males running from the residence. Police were called and with information provided by a citizen and K9 tracking, the males were located inside of an apartment building on King Edward Avenue where they were arrested.
As a result two 17 year old males of London have been charged with break and enter.
ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT
2008/01/30 Update:
At 11:25 am today Shane Guy was located and arrested.
On Tuesday January 15 2008 shortly before 3 pm a male approached a male at an outside payphone area at Commissioners Road at Pondmills Road and demanded money. No weapon was seen. The male said no and the suspect proceeded to grab his neck and hold him up against a wall. The suspect punched the male in the face and fled to an awaiting vehicle. The licence plate to the vehicle was obtained and provided to Police upon their arrival.
As a result of an investigation into the identity of the suspect, there is a warrant out for Shane Guy, 35 years of London for Robbery. Photo attached.
