Association would like to have say in how the rebuilding is structured to make community more “welcoming.”

John Lucas (City of London) attended 2007/01/09 meeting re: plans for the renovation of Thompson Road from Adelaide Street to Pond Mills Road.

  • “the area has a history of water main issues which are being investigated and will be repaired” Have they been repaired?
  • “soil consultant will test the soil under the road to determine the best way to repair the road” Was road repaired?
  • “design for the road is beginning now, with the work to be done in 2008″ Was design finished? What work will be done and when?
  • “there will be a public meeting organized by the city and occurring closer to the time of construction” Do we have a date yet for the public meeting?
  • “a bike path was suggested – John noted there are 2 kinds; commuter routes and bike paths. John will check master plan to determine if bike paths are included – they are a “finishing detail” Anything resolved yet about that?
  • “curbs were requested, including at the King Edward bus stop, and wheel chair accessible curb by Victory Heights Church; there was a request to consider recessed bus bays, shelters; there was a request to consider level of street lighting. LTC to be consulted during planning. Have they been?
  • Roger Caranci to discuss the available options with John. John advised he would review all items and apprise Roger Caranci, who will bring the information to a subsequent community meeting. Any action since then?
